Welcome to the "Count Scratchers" tool. This tool is designed to help you calculate the total value of scratch-off lottery tickets, both closed packs and open packs. Follow the instructions below to use the tool effectively:
- Closed Packs:
- Enter the number of closed packs for each denomination in the corresponding input fields.
- For example, if you have 3 closed packs of $1 scratchers, enter "3" in the input field next to "$1x240".
- Open Packs:
- Enter open pack information in the text area labeled "Scratcher Pack Details". Each line should represent one pack of tickets, with the format:
first_ticket_number*denomination.
- For example, if you have a full pack of $5 scratchers starting from ticket number 0, enter "0*5".
- If there are missing tickets from the front or back of a pack, denote this by adding a hyphen followed by the number of missing tickets and then the last ticket number present. For example, "0*5-79" represents a full pack of $5 scratchers with one ticket missing from the back, and the last present ticket being number 78.
- View Totals:
- As you enter the information, the tool will automatically calculate and display the total value of all scratchers entered.
- The total value will be shown in the "Totals" section below the input fields.
- Usage Tips:
- You can enter both closed packs and open packs simultaneously. The tool will calculate the total value accordingly.
- If you don't have open pack details, you can simply enter the number of closed packs for each denomination.
- Additional Notes:
- If the ticket pack is backwards (e.g., the highest value tickets are at the front), you can adjust the calculation accordingly based on the actual number of tickets sold.
